The government went ahead with the draft of the public debt bill, where Speaker of the National Assembly Marzouq Al-Ghanem referred the law to the Finance Committee in preparation for referring it to the Council, after Finance Minister Barak Al-Shitan informed him that the government is continuing with this law and that it is ready to take the comments of MPs when discussing it in the committee.
Al-Ghanim said that “the government continues in the public debt law according to what Finance Minister Barak Al-Shitan told him, explaining that according to the constitutional and constitutional procedures, he was transferred to the Finance Committee regardless of his personal opinion of the law.”
He added, “When the law was introduced, we were given a deadline to withdraw it before turning it over to the committee, and the government did not withdraw it, and therefore I followed the procedures, regardless of my personal opinion, which I expressed earlier.”
