Egypt eliminates quarantine for those returning from abroad – ARAB TIMES

KUWAIT CITY, Jun 4: The authorities at Cairo International Airport decided to abolish the quarantine of Egyptians returning from abroad on evacuation trips organized by the Ministry of Civil Aviation the passengers have to adhere to domestic isolation for several days to ensure that they are free of the emerging Corona virus.

Sources at Cairo International Airport stated that the quarantine authorities have already started to implement the recommendation to cancel the quarantine on approximately 450 people stuck on 3 evacuation trips from Beirut.

Passengers returning from abroad were subjected to corona virus tests inside the arrival hall, and they did not show any symptoms or suspicion that they were infected with corona virus, and accordingly, they were allowed to leave the airport to spend the isolation period in their homes .

The sources added that those suspected of being infected with the Corona virus during their detection in the arrival halls after their return from abroad will be immediately isolated inside the designated hospitals, and they will leave the airport under the supervision and full medical supervision.

Egypt recently decided to extend a suspension of all international passenger flights to limit the spread of the Corona virus until further notice, after it had suspended civil aviation traffic, whether coming or leaving from Egyptian airports since last March 19.

The decision excluded 5 cases of suspension, including air cargo flights and charter flights to enable the return of tourist groups after the end of their programs without bringing in new groups, international ambulance flights and domestic flights inside Egypt.
