SpiceJet Pilot Tests Positive For COVID-19, Who Flew From Kuwait-Mumbai and all crew who came in direct contact with the pilot have been put under 14-day quarantine. The pilot had last operated a flight on June 3, 2020.
SpiceJet spokespersons said, “One of our colleagues, a First Officer, has tested positive for COVID-19. The First Officer had been tested as part of SpiceJet’s internal medical testing for crew on June 5, 2020. The test report came on June 7.
All measures are being taken to provide appropriate medical care to the pilot.
According to the latest figures by the Union Health Ministry, the total COVID-19 count in India include 1,33,632 active cases, while 1,35,205 people have recovered. The recovery rate has increased to 48.9 per cent.
“Thus, 48.99% of the patients have recovered so far,” it said. Though official spokespersons have been highlighting the Indian recovery rate, they do not mention that the global recovery rate is also the same or slightly better.
Nearly 7.2 million people have now been confirmed to have the coronavirus and nearly 409,000 have died, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. The US, the UK and Brazil have recorded the highest death tolls. The US, Brazil and Russia have the most cases.
