MOH making arrangements for Expat Doctors stranded abroad to return
KUWAIT CITY, June 11: The Ministry of Health is now finalizing procedures for the return of expatriate doctors, who are assigned in its hospitals and are currently stranded abroad, in mid-July or early August.
Sources disclosed a number of general and specialized hospitals sent the list of expatriate doctors stranded abroad to the Technical Department in the ministry in order to arrange their return to the country.
Last week, the department issued a circular to the hospitals, asking them to submit the list of such doctors from all departments. The list should include the name, specialization, civil ID number and passport number of the doctors – whether their residency permit is valid or not, in addition to the contact officers in all the concerned departments at the hospitals, sources said.
