Kuwaiti journalist Faisal Al-Qenaei passes away
KUWAIT, June 12: Arab Times and Al Seyassah mourns the death of Kuwaiti journalist Faisal Al-Qenaei, who passed away today, Friday, after a brief period of illness.
Arab Times and Al Seyassah extends its deepest condolences to the families of the deceased, wishing God Almighty that the deceased be blessed with mercy.
Faisal Mubarak Al-Qenaei, who was born on the 6th October 1950, is considered one of the pillars of the Kuwait and Arab press, especially in the sports field. He was a witness and contemporary of the sporting achievements of the Kuwaiti teams in regional and international forums.
Al-Qenaei began his journalistic career in 1969 and worked in many daily newspapers in the State of Kuwait and was one of the founders of the daily newspaper, Al-Jamaher, which was published in 1983.
He held various positions, including the vice president of the International Federation of Sports Journalism, the first vice-president of the Asian Federation for Sports Journalism, a member of the Communications Committee of the International Olympic Committees, a member of the executive office of the Arab Press Union, the general secretary of the Kuwaiti Journalists Association, and the head of the media committee of the Kuwaiti Olympic Committee.
Al-Qenaei was also named honorary president of the Asian Press Confederation and advisor to the Arab Journalists Union
