Hawally, Farwaniya and Khaitan Shows Positive Indicator For Lifting Isolation
Kuwait Health officials analyzed infection rates in all areas of Kuwait, there is a tendency to isolate some areas and remove isolation from others most notably Hawally that came out of the list of the highest-affected areas since Tuesday 26 May last, as per sources.
Sources said that positive indicators are still being achieved in the isolated areas according to the results of the evaluation expected to be submitted to the Minister of Health stating that the Hawally region is at the forefront of the areas that registered positive indicators and indications are strong that isolation will be removed from this area, but the decision remains entirely on subject to what it will produce the latest results, and the extent to which the numbers and rates of infections have been consistently proven.
Regarding the health conditions in the rest of the isolated areas with the end of the first phase of the return to normalcy plan, the sources said that Mahboula and Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh regions despite of some positive indicators were achieved, they are still the highest areas in terms of the scale of transmission and infection rates to the proportion of smears, while the situation is better in the areas of Farwaniya and Khaitan, but indicators are not in favor of lifting isolation, therefore it is likely to continue for some time.
On Saturday, Kuwait announced 514 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of COVID-19 infections in the country to 35,466 according to a statement from the Ministry of Health. The Health Ministry also reported 4 more deaths from COVID-19, taking to 289 the total such fatalities in Kuwait. Those currently receiving treatment at hospitals reached 9,619 patients.
Based on the data, sources expected that removal of isolation from these isolated areas will be in 3 stages, the first includes the Hawally region which has show satisfactory results while the second includes the regions of Farwaniya and Khaitan where as in the third and last stage include the regions of Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Mahboulah.
Meanwhile, Kuwait Ministry of Interior stated that the residents of the isolated areas are allowed to leave their homes, within the curfew area only but are not allowed to go out of their area even with curfew permit. The partial curfew in Kuwait will be from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am.
The third and final batch of stranded 289 medical teams consisting doctor, nurse and technician arrived in from India. After conducting medical examinations they have been moved to Jaber Al-Ahmad city.
Kuwait government decides to change the total curfew to a partial curfew. The health minister said easing the curfew will be among the first phase in a 5-phases plan, each to last at least 3 weeks, to go back to normal life.

Currently More than 7.7 million people have been reported infected with the new coronavirus globally and 428,056 have died. Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries since the first cases were identified in China last December.
