CSC rejects request to exclude expat teachers from the ‘replacement policy’

KUWAIT CITY, July 14: The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has rejected the request to exclude expatriate teachers from the replacement policy for fiscal 2019/2020 and all other exceptions, except the psycho-social researchers, reports Al-Rai daily quoting a source from the educational sector.

The source disclosed that the percentage of Kuwaiti teachers compared to expatriates is now 73 percent, which is considered an advanced step towards Kuwaitization.

The source said about 240 expatriates covered by the replacement policy for the above-mentioned fiscal year will be informed about the termination of their services and they will be given three months notice period. The source also confirmed the completion of appointment procedures for about 50 citizens as per the decision of the Administrative Sector, clarifying these citizens have yet to start working
