Indian ambassador holds talks with Kuwait’s education, health ministers

Means of boosting bilateral ties discussed

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 24: The Ambassador of India to the State of Kuwait His Excellency Sibi George met Saturday, Kuwait’s Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education, His Excellency Dr Saud Al-Harbi, says a press release issued by the embassy.

During the meeting both sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, means of enhancing and strengthening the existing institutional cooperation in the domain of education, and other matters of mutual interest, including those related to verification of academic certificates and matters related to Indian schools in the State of Kuwait.

Earlier the Indian envoy had called on Kuwait’s Minister of Health His Excellency Sheikh Dr Bassel Hamoud Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, to discuss ways of strengthening bilateral relations especially in the health sector and matters related to medical professions and particularly the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, says a press release issued by the Indian embassy.

During discussions the Indian envoy touched on the latest developments and the measures adopted by the government of India to contain the pandemic including the production and use of a vaccine to contain and fight the virus in India. The ambassador also highlighted the areas where the two countries can boost their efforts in strengthening health relations, exchange experiences, seek medical and health expertise, and benefit from the experiences to confront the new corona challenge.

Meanwhile, Dr Rihab Al-Watyan told KUNA the meeting discussed the challenges facing the health systems and the measures taken to address and contain the corona pandemic, exchange experiences, discuss prospects and areas of cooperation between the two sides to develop and implement health programs and enhance cooperation in areas related to health and health care.
