Gradual ‘return’ of students to schools seen after vaccination

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 24: The educational districts and directors of academic departments have submitted proposals for the gradual return of students to the schools once everyone is vaccinated against corona, reports Al-Anba daily.

This is a confirmation of a similar report that the daily published earlier. Acting Undersecretary of the Education Ministry Faisal Al-Maqsid recently held two meetings – first with the assistant undersecretaries for financial, establishments and administrative sectors; and second with the directors of educational districts and managers of all regions. The first meeting focused on the schools’ needs in all educational stages, funds, maintenance contracts and advances; while the second discussed the gradual return plan for the students. Sources from the educational sector disclosed the gradual return plan consists of three stages; indicating the first stage will last for two weeks, the second for four weeks, and the third will coincide with the fifth phase of the country’s return to normal life plan.

Sources added Al-Maqsid assigned Assistant Undersecretary for Public Education Affairs Osama Al-Sultan to conduct a study and prepare a comprehensive proposal that includes the technical orientation plan and proposals of the educational districts for the gradual return of students. Sources confirmed the proposal will be tackled in next week’s meeting, during which a decision will be taken. Sources clarified the plan will be implemented only after obtaining approval from the Ministry of Health.
