Corona survival rate in Kuwait 99.98%

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 31: Professor Adel Al-Hanian, Professor of Urology and Reproductive Surgery, Acting Deputy Director of Kuwait University for Medical Sciences, put the non-death rate for (COVID-19) in Kuwait over the course of the months of the pandemic at 99.98 percent, and praised the government efforts, particularly the health sector, to contain and prevent the spread of the virus.

Al-Hanian pointed out Britain has approved the use of Oxford vaccine to confront Covid-19, making it the first country in the world to adopt that vaccine which is developed by the University of Oxford and the UK government accepted the recommendation of the Medicines and Health Care Products Agency (MHRA) based on studies which were carried out since last April which is believed to be taken thousands of UK citizens and also noted the low cost of the vaccine, ease of distribution and storage. However, a member of the Supreme Advisory Committee to Combat Coronavirus, Dr. Khaled Al-Saeed, said it is not advisable or rather permissible to switch to or combine two types of vaccines, meaning a a person is given the first dose of a vaccine from one vaccine and another dose from another vaccine, stressing that whoever receives one type of vaccine is committed to the same type of second dose.

Al-Saeed said in a statement “We lived in fear and panic from the beginning of this pandemic for many months, until signs of the end of this pandemic emerged by adopting more than one vaccine to confront the virus and the high turnout for vaccination against the disease, as the number of vaccinated people around the world has exceeded 4.5 million people.”

Al-Saeed explained that there is no need for analyzes that precede the process of immunization against Corona, indicating at the same time that the best time to take the vaccine for people with corona, after infection is after 3 months, according to the global recommendations of the Advisory Committee in America, and despite the fact that the seasonal flu vaccine does not conflict with the Covid-19 vaccine. However, he stressed the need for two weeks to pass between the doses.
