PAM worker absolved of forging and renewal of work permits

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 1: The Court of Appeals upheld the verdict issued by a lower court which acquitted a Kuwaiti employee of the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) of charges of forgery and renewal of work permits fraudulently.

The Public Prosecution accused the citizen of forging two official documents with the intention of fraudulently renewing the work permits of two expatriate employees of a company.

Representing the citizen was Lawyer Ali Al-Wawan, who argued that there was no substantial evidence to back the claims leveled against his client. He stressed that the action of his client did not necessarily mean he was aware of any falsification of documents, and the burden of proof lies with the one who is making a claim.
