MoSA takes action against violating nursery
3,000 orphans on waiting list
KUWAIT CITY, March 11: The Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Sector at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Hana Al-Hajri, said one of the private nurseries has been accused of entertaining 46 children and 6 female employees in violation of Cabinet decisions and health requirements, reports Al-Jarida daily. Al-Hajri explained that in light of this, the ministry in coordination with the Investigation Department of the Ministry of Interior has taken all legal measures against the nursery to protect the children based on the implementation of the Council of Ministers decisions to stop some activities and the need to adhere to health requirements which also call for prevent gatherings.
Al-Hajri stressed the keenness of the ministry to play its assigned role in light of the laws and regulations governing the work of private nurseries, and the Child Rights Law, which stressed the need for the state to intervene in times of disasters and epidemics. She said the ministry will continue inspect all nurseries through its private nurseries supervision department and take legal measures against violators. The ministry also calls on the parents not to expose their children to health risks.
Director of Orphans Department at the Najat Charity Society, Abdullah Al-Ruwaished, said, “The charity now has more than 3,000 orphans on the waiting lists from various countries, and is in dire need of ‘good people’ to sponsor them.” In a press statement Al-Ruwaished called on philanthropists to support the orphan sponsorship project, which in turn contributes to making the orphan an ethical, civilized human being. The society said the month cost is about 15 dinars, but it depends on the sponsor. Al-Ruwaished said the ‘Orphan Sponsorship’ is one of the pioneering humanitarian projects that the society is interested in, “through which we provide appropriate care for orphans, and we are keen to visit them, inspect their conditions and establish psychological support programs and recreational and educational facilities for them.”
