Traffic campaign in Salmiya nets drug abusers, residence violators – 370 citations issued

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 24: A traffic campaign was organized in Salmiya area against traffic violators and reckless drivers. In this campaign 370 traffic violations were issued, two were arrested for drug abuse and two arrested for residence violations.

An Egyptian expat was caught driving a car without a driving license. Other violations were mainly expiry of driving license, car registration renewal and emission of smoke. The violations were issued and vehicles were impounded. All the violators will not be able to pay a fine online as they have been blocked in the system unless the technical inspection department checks their vehicle, reports Al Rai. Only after submitting the report that the vehicle has been fully checked will the block be removed where the violators will be able to pay their fines. Traffic department has warned everyone that they will pursue anyone who violates traffic law.
