UK: 57 confirmed monkeypox cases so far

LONDON, May 23: UK’s Health Ministry confirmed 36 new monkeypox cases putting the total at 57. Of the cases registered; 56 are in the UK, while one patient in Scotland is hospitalized. The potential blowout of monkeypox is very worrying, said the ministry, but still not fatal, while also advising all with symptoms to immediately seek medical health to prevent the spread of the virus. Isolation is also recommended for 21 days for who has had direct or household contact with a confirmed case. Initial symptoms are apparently fever, headaches, swellings, back pain and aching muscles, which would lead to rashes of raised spots that later turn into blisters and typically clear up within two to four weeks.(KUNA)
