Jordanian jailed in cash robbery

KUWAIT CITY, June 29: In its final ruling, the Court of Cassation sentenced a Jordanian accountant to 10 years in prison and fined him KD697,000 which he took from the employees’ entitlements in the Social Security Fund of the Ministry of Interior, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Case files indicate that the Criminal Investigation General Department received a report from the Financial Affairs General Department, stating it discovered the embezzlement of funds from the Social Security Fund for the employees during the periodic review of the fund’s accounts.

Meanwhile , acting on information firemen rushed to a glass factory in Mina Abdullah and put out fire, reports Al-Rai daily. The fire was put out from firefighting teams from Mina Abdullah and Umm al-Hayman centers. No injuries have been reported.
