Kuwait suspends enrollment in 4 US universities

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 19: The Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Ali Al-Mudhaf has issued two decisions regarding stopping the registration and enrollment of Kuwaitis at all levels of university and graduate studies in some higher education institutions in the United States of America, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The two decisions, published today, in the Official Gazette ‘Kuwait Al-Youm’ states that the suspension of registration includes the University of Hartford, Lawrence Technology University, University of Massachusetts, Lowell and the Wichita State University, However, the decision indicated that it does not apply to students who are actually enrolled and continuing to study before the issuance of this decision and students who have obtained admission to study for the first semester of the academic year 2022/2023.

A decree was also issued to add a paragraph to Article 4 of the decree licensing the establishment of the Algonquin Canadian College in Kuwait. The decree stated that a second paragraph should be added to Article 4 of Decree No. 419 of 2010 referred to as follows: “The college grants a bachelor’s degree in business administration and its branches and applied sciences for computer science with a (2+2) system for diploma holders, after passing the academic accreditation requirements that It is decided by the Council of Private Universities.
