US-based Bedoun poet, activist says Kuwait prevented her from entering

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 4: The writer and translator, Mona Karim, who holds American citizenship, announced that she was prevented from entering Kuwait (noting that she had previously not specified nationality), while security sources confirmed to Al- Rai that the reason for preventing her entry to Kuwait is tied to what the authorities called ‘security reasons’, reports Al- Rai daily. Mona Karim – believed to be a bedoun — left the country 10 years ago and later acquired the US citizenship, according to the information.
