9 Beggars and 7 street vendors arrested

KUWAIT, March 29: During the holy month of Ramadan, the Department of Protection of Public Morals and Combating Trafficking in Persons, representing the criminal security sector, conducted continuous campaigns against beggars and street vendors. As a result, 9 expats of different nationalities were arrested on charges of begging, while 7 persons were arrested for selling illegally on the streets. Confiscated items were taken before the Kuwait Municipality, and the individuals were referred to the competent authorities for necessary action, following prior coordination and cooperation.

The security establishment expresses gratitude to citizens and residents for their cooperation in reporting instances of begging, and urges everyone to immediately report any such cases.
