PAM denies reports of 16,000 work permits suspension in Kuwait’s private sector

KUWAIT CITY, April 2: An official at the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) explained that news on suspending 16,000 work visa for expatriates in the private sector, pending confirmation of the validity of their academic certificates, is inaccurate; stressing that the authority is constantly working to vet the certificates of workers in the private sector and ensure their integrity according to the procedures and organizing laws, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources.

Sources confirmed there is no plan to suspend 16,000 work visa to ensure the integrity of their procedures, stressing that the authority continues to suspend those whose papers or academic certificates proved to be invalid and the audit is done for each case separately. Sources added the authority is working hard to organize the labor market, facilitate procedures for young Kuwaiti business owners and continue procedures to amend the demographics.
