Saudi, UAE, US FMs discuss current situation in Sudan

RIYADH, April 15: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud, UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and US Foreign Secretary Antony Blinken discussed Saturday the ongoing situation in Sudan. This came in a join phone call Saturday, said the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

During the call, the three sides stressed the importance of stopping the military escalation and returning to the framework agreement, in a way that guarantees the security and stability of Sudan and its people. Clashes broke out between the Sudanese army and paramilitary forces as talks aiming to reach a final political agreement had recently failed. The agreement was supposed to allow the Rapid Support Forces to merge into the Sudanese army and form a civil government. (KUNA)
