India Extends Humanitarian Assistance to People of Palestine
NEW DELHI, Nov 19: India has reaffirmed its commitment to providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Palestine by sending a second tranche of relief materials to Egypt. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar announced the departure of the Indian Air Force aircraft, MCC C17, carrying 32 tons of aid for El-Arish Airport in Egypt. The relief materials were subsequently handed over to the Egyptian Red Crescent for distribution to Palestine.
This follows India’s initial shipment of humanitarian assistance on October 22, which included medical aid and disaster relief materials. Expressing deep concern over civilian casualties in Gaza during the Israel-Hamas conflict, New Delhi called for an end to violence and advocated for a lasting solution, including the establishment of a Palestinian state. India’s support for Palestine and Palestinian refugees extends to contributions to the UN’s relief and Works Agency (UNRWA)
