KUWAIT CITY, Nov 26: Traffic police and rescue police have registered 25,947 traffic violations in just seven days. According to the weekly statistics announced by the Traffic Sector, 54 reckless persons were arrested and placed in precautionary detention, in addition to 243 vehicles and 34 motorcycles being seized during the period from Nov 18 to Nov 24.
As for the number of violations recorded by traffic police during their campaigns on a number of main and secondary roads and intersections, it amounted to 20,979 violations. Twelve juveniles were referred to the prosecution, 11 persons reported absconding were also arrested, and 6 people were sent to the General Administration for Drug Control. According to statistics, the men of the General Department of Rescue Police carried out a number of intensive security and traffic campaigns to arrest violators and wanted persons.
