RAJASTHAN, India, Dec 6, (PTI): Shops and businesses remained shut in several cities in Rajasthan today in protest against the daylight murder of Rajput leader and Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena (SRRKS) chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi in Jaipur on Tuesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, top officials — including Chief Secretary Usha Sharma and DGP Umesh Mishra — are meeting with all District Collectors and SPs to review the law and order situation in view of the murder.

Apart from Jaipur, bandhs and protests were reported from Ajmer, Sawai Madhopur, Sikar, Tonk, Dausa, Jhunjhunu, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Pali, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Sirohi and Mount Abu, among other districts.

Gogamedi was killed by three gunmen at his residence in Jaipur on Tuesday. One of the gunmen was later killed in retaliatory firing, police said. Gangster Rohit Godara took responsibility for Gogamedi's killing in a Facebook post.

CCTV footage of the incident shows attackers whipping out their weapons and indiscriminately shooting at Gogamedi who is sitting on a couch opposite them. Before fleeing the scene, one of the assailants shoots a motionless Gogamedi lying on the floor from a close range.
