WhatsApp Hackers Strike Back, Exploiting Links for Money Swindles
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 12: Hackers of are back in the headlines as they have been sending links via and those who assess those links end up getting their accounts hacked, after which their unsuspecting friends and relatives are asked for money.
Several people have lately been subjected to these hacks again after a decrease in such attempts over the past two years. This time they returned with force, as the hackers obtained sums of money by sending links from the victim’s phone under the guise of being the account holder seeking money from a friend or relative. When the money is sent, the hacker collects the amount.
Informed sources warned against accessing unreliable links, even if they are from someone known. They said, “You should contact them to verify before accessing these links, which have become dangerous to users, their phones, and their bank balances.”
