KUWAIT CITY, Dec 27: Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice and Vice Chairman of the Permanent National Committee concerned with implementing the National Strategy to Prevent Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants, Hashem Al- Qallaf announced that the committee has launched its website in Arabic and English within the ministry’s website system, reports Al-Anba daily. Al-Qallaf stressed that launching the website in Arabic and English is within the framework of the commitment to develop work mechanisms and provide data and information related to combating the trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants.
He said the website includes a comprehensive definition of the committee’s work, powers, purpose and vision, and legislation and agreements in the field of combating trafficking in persons, as well as the role played by shelters in protecting victims, receiving them, and providing accommodation for victims and other people who have taken refuge in them, and special reporting methods in this regard.. He also emphasized the importance of this website in community awareness, which is the most prominent aspect of the national strategy, as the website includes the brochures that the committee prepared and issued, as well as the activities that the committee implemented like conferences, seminars or workshops — whether at the national or regional level — by the committee’s terms of reference. He stated that special accounts for the committee have been launched on social media sites X and Instagram, to publish educational and awareness-raising materials for the committee and announce all of its activities to raise social awareness
