Wife Accused of WhatsApp Harassment Walks Free
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 10: The Court of Appeals acquitted a woman who was accused of abusing, insulting, and threatening her husband via messages. According to the case file, the husband accused his wife of using the program to insult him by sending him audio clips and posts of insults, threats, and abuse.
The Public Prosecution charged the accused with insulting the victim in a way that dishonored him and affected his reputation in a private conversation on , and of deliberately misusing a means of telephone communications to threaten the victim using voice messages. During the court session, Lawyer Muhammad Al- Sayegh, who represented the accused, pleaded the absence of intent to harm his client, demanding that the ruling of the Court of First Instance be overturned and the court acquit her of what was attributed against her.
