500 expats arrested for residency violations in a 3-week blitz

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 23: The General Administration of Residence Affairs Investigations, through collaborative efforts from the Department of Control and Coordination, the Department of Violators Follow-up, and the Joint Tripartite Committee, conducted extensive morning and evening inspection campaigns in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Farwaniya, and Fahaheel. The outcome of these operations carried out the day before yesterday, led to the arrest of 120 individuals from various nationalities for violations of the Residency and Labor Law.

During the targeted inspections, authorities uncovered a clandestine operation posing as a domestic servants’ agency, housing three violators working as daily laborers. The apprehended individuals have been referred to the competent authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings.

This recent sweep is part of ongoing security campaigns aimed at curbing residency violations in the country. According to an informed source, the Ministry of Interior has successfully arrested over 390 residency violators since the beginning of January, bringing the total number of expatriates apprehended to more than 500 within three weeks.
