The incident culminated in the individual opening fire in a densely populated area.
According to a security source, the Ministry of Interior operations received a report regarding the absence of a military officer from his designated post, coupled with the alarming information that he had absconded with two M16 machine guns, two ammunition stores, and a security patrol. The ongoing investigation aims to uncover the circumstances surrounding the case and the motives that prompted the accused to discharge his firearms at a residence in Sabahiya after the theft of the machine guns, ammunition, and patrol.
