Puerto Rico is reeling from the effects of Hurricane Ernesto, which made landfall earlier tonight. The category one storm is bringing torrential downpours, strong winds, and widespread power outages, leaving over 700,000 customers without electricity.
NBC News’ Meteorologist Angie Lassman: "The system is moving away from the Caribbean, so we’ll see some improvements for parts of Puerto Rico, specifically in the Virgin Islands, as things wind down. But Bermuda is next in the storm’s path, and it’s expected to strengthen into a category 3 hurricane by the end of the week."
