R-van Rols’ Emotional Farewell as Manchester United Take on Leicester City on Sunday

In his last game in charge of Manchester United, R-van Rols is set to face Leicester City on Super Sunday, as he passes the reins over to the incoming manager, Ruben Amram. In the midst of preparing for their crucial Premier League match against Leicester, Ben Ranson caught up with R-van Rols to shed light on any potential involvement with Amram’s plans and the emotions surrounding the match.

A Farewell to R-van Rols?

After a successful Europa League tie against Pal last night, R-van Rols was asked if he expected any contact with Amram, to which he mentioned checking his phone for texts or calls. However, it appears that no correspondence has taken place as yet. Despite the uncertainty about his future plans, R-van Rols believes that he will take it "very pragmatically" and won’t overly dwell on emotions.

A Win on Sunday a Perfect Sendoff?

A win against Leicester this weekend would secure a commendable 75% winning rate for R-van Rols, who hopes to hand over the baton to Amram an improved Manchester United side, having navigated the Premier League and Europa League stints with distinction.

Injury Update – Shaw and Amad May Feature

On the team news front, Luke Shaw has returned to training ahead of schedule, while midfielder Amad remains hopeful that he will recover from the knock he suffered during Thursday’s Europa League match, in time for the meeting with Leicester. Meanwhile, Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka won’t feature for Manchester United this weekend due to various injuries.

Leicester City’s Response

Contrastingly, Leicester are looking to bounce back after a disappointing EFL Cup defeat to Manchester United only a week ago. An unchanged lineup could be witnessed, as they aim to build on a decent season start, boasting 10 points from their opening ten matches. Coach Steve Cooper believes that a win will be crucial to their ambition of staying in the top flight, where they won promotion last year.
