Radio City Rockettes officially kick off holiday season
Unison: The Art of Perfection
For Courtney and Caitlyn Sullivan, it’s more than just a word – it’s their reality. As identical twins and Rockettes, they’ve mastered the art of moving in perfect harmony. In their second season performing at Radio City Music Hall, they’re a prime example of what it means to be in sync.
A Childhood Dream Realized
Growing up, the Sullivan twins watched the Rockettes perform with a sense of wonder. They’d study the intricate dance routines, mesmerized by the precision and energy of the performers. When they landed roles as Rockettes themselves, they felt like they’d been born for this moment. "It felt like the perfect job for us," they shared in an interview. As identical twins, they’d always done everything in unison – walking, talking, and even dancing the same steps. The Rockettes’ synchronized movements only amplified their natural rhythm.
Inspiration from the Stage
Carmen Moore, another Rockette, has a similar story. She credits her idol, Denell Morgan, with inspiring her to take the stage. Watching Morgan perform over the years, Moore was captivated by her authenticity and passion. "Seeing another black woman who is 100% authentically herself" was a powerful motivator for Moore. Now, she shares the stage with Morgan, a dream come true.
A Birthday Wish Fulfilled
For Megan Glazer, performing with the Rockettes is a lifelong passion. At just 12 years old, she performed as Young Clara in the Nutcracker scene. The cast surprised her with a birthday cake, and she made a wish to become a Rockette – a dream that would come true many years later. Now, in her 15th season, Glazer cherishes the opportunity to continue the Legacy.
What Makes the Rockettes Special
So, what’s the secret to the Rockettes’ enduring success? For Megan Glazer, it’s the iconic nature of the Radio City music hall and the legendary show. "It’s Just One of a Kind. It’s legendary." In an era of rapid change, the Rockettes stand as a testament to the power of tradition and artistic excellence.
A Message to Aspiring Performers
As the Sullivan twins and Carmen Moore demonstrate, with determination and hard work, any dream can come true. To aspiring performers, their message is clear: "Never give up, and dream big." By following their passion and staying focused, they can carry on the Legacy of the Rockettes in unison.
