Exclusive Tour: AFC Bournemouth Performance Center Unveiled
After eight years and over £40 million worth of investment, the former golf course is now a state-of-the-art facility – AFC Bournemouth Performance Center. Today marks the official unveiling, giving us a sneak peek at what this new facility has to offer.
Nutrition Room
Upon entering the training ground, we are greeted by the nutrition room, where the team’s nutritionist, Mac, is busy preparing food and supplements for the players. "Nutrition is massive," says a player. "It’s all about being in top shape, whether it’s game day or not."
Lowdown on the Gym
The main gym is impressive, with a wide range of equipment and a well-organized layout. "The gym is always tidy in here," says a player. "We do a good job of keeping it maintained."
The Chamber
To be honest, the extensive crowd in this room made it quite an inhospitable place to be at times. But, as one player notes, "When you’re doing a hard bike, it’s quite a tough place to be."
Club Doctor
The stadium’s medical team is proud to offer on-site medical services, including scans and x-rays. It’s an impressive facility that not many clubs can match.
Inside the Training Pitches
We take a walk around the picturesque surroundings, admiring the beautiful training pitches, complete with lush greenery, grass, and even a few birds chirping. As one player notes, "I like more is the surroundings because you are here with a lot of trees."
Exclusive Interview with the Head Coach
We catch up with the head coach, who shares his thoughts on the new facility, saying, "It’s really nice to hear these stories not that we didn’t have a training pitch, we had to beg, steal, and borrow any piece of land to train. This is just incredible now… it’s amazing to see where it’s gone from to where it is now."
The Next Ambition
In terms of the club’s ambitions, the head coach notes, "As you said, we want to be in the fight until the end now. There is a little bit of uncertainty, but we know that probably we’ll be there and we hope we can arrive until the last game, fighting for this last European European spot."
