FACE-TO-FACE WITH CHANGE
Fat Joe Hit with Explosive $20 Million Lawsuit Alleging Decade-Long Abuse of Ex-Hype Man
Rapper Fat Joe, whose legal name is Joseph Cartagena Cartagena, has been hit with a 157-page, graphic lawsuit alleging he coercively forced his ex-hype man into thousands of sexual acts over more than a decade. Terrance Dixon, the accuser, claims he personally witnessed Cartagena engage in sexual relations with girls as young as 15.
The lawsuit, filed by Dixon’s attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, accuses Cartagena of more than a decade of abuse, including forcing Dixon to perform humiliating situations, including sexual acts under duress and surveillance. The complaint also alleges that Cartagena paid for plastic surgery for one of the underage girls and claimed she was frequently cut off financially and discarded when she became non-compliant.
The lawsuit states that Cartagena would bring women to hotel rooms and make Dixon have sex with them in front of him and others. It also accuses Cartagena of flying underage girls into the U.S. from Europe and paying for their expenses.
Cartagena’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, claims that the lawsuit is a "blatant act of retaliation" and a "desperate attempt to deflect attention from the civil suit we filed." Cartagena initially sued Dixon in April, alleging he was attempting to extort him for money.
The Shocking Allegations
According to the lawsuit, Cartagena would frequently take underage girls to hotels, where he would engage in sexual activities with them. Dixon claims he was forced to participate in these activities and was threatened with consequences if he refused.
The lawsuit includes disturbing allegations of sexual abuse, coercion, and trafficking of minors. The allegations are so graphic that there is a big trigger warning in red.
Legal Battles Ensue
The lawsuit filed by Dixon is a civil RICO case, unlike the criminal RICO case against Sean "Diddy" Combs, which is currently underway. However, several individuals involved in this lawsuit have connections to the alleged criminal empire of Combs.
Fat Joe’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, is also representing other high-profile clients, including President Donald Trump and ASAP Rocky. Tacopina reportedly turned down the opportunity to represent Combs.
Dixon’s attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, is also representing music producer and rapper Lil Rodney in a separate case against Combs.
The Fallout Continues
The family of the alleged victims is still reeling from the shocking allegations. The community is left wondering what could have led to such a culture of abuse and exploitation.
As the legal battles continue, it remains to be seen what will come of this case. One thing is certain, however: the victims of Fat Joe’s alleged abuse will be seeking justice, and the world will be watching with bated breath.
