Disappointing Defeat for Brit Cameron Norrie at Wimbledon

Alcaraz on Fire: 23 Matches Won in a Row
The victory has pushed Alcaraz to 23 wins in a row, and he is now bidding to become the fifth man to win three successive Wimbledon titles in the Open era. Norrie, however, remains proud of his performance and is already looking forward to his next challenge.
Nori Gracious in Defeat
“It was a tough match,” Norrie reflected. “I felt like the match was a little bit quicker than I would have liked, and it was really tough to make it the way I wanted to and play my game style against him. And he was just yeah, it was all happening very quickly.”
“I think if you asked him, he would agree with that. And yeah, it was it was good fun. And and those are the kind of matches that you you want to think about and and you want to play. You do all the hard work, you do extra stuff with your coach, you do extra fitness and you you do all these things to get ready for matches like this, and I wanted just to go out there, no excuses, and just go play. And and I did that, and he was too good today, and and I fought to the last last point, so I can be proud.”
Alcaraz’s High Praise for Opponent
“He was too good today,” Norrie conceded. “My confidence is really high, to be honest. I just feeling great. I mean today as I said, it was the the best match so far in the in the tournament. I don’t know if it has been the best match in in the tournament that I played on grass or comparing to last year for example, but you know, just really pleased and happy that uh that I’m playing I’m playing such a great tennis right now.”
Norrie’s Ranking to Sky Rocket
Although the defeat may have been disappointing, Norrie’s ranking is set to soar, with his next update next week likely to see him return to the world top 50.
