The owner, Evangelos Marinakis, has made it clear that he will not hesitate to remove Postikloo if performances and results don’t improve quickly. But despite this, the club’s hierarchy remains behind the manager, focusing on the upcoming match against Newcastle on Super Sunday.

However, the pressure is mounting, and the tension was palpable as Postikloo faced the media ahead of the crucial game. The manager, known for his no-nonsense approach, spoke candidly about the challenges he is facing, saying, “I don’t like sending messages to fans. I mean, they love their football club. They’re obviously disappointed with the way things are going at the moment, disappointed with last night. And um, the only thing I can do is try to fulfill my responsibility to get the team out there to change our fortunes.”

Fans’ Disappointment Boils Over

The discontent among fans was evident last night, as some Forest supporters took to the stands to chant for Postikloo’s sacking during the Europa League defeat by FC Micheland. The discontent has been brewing, with many fans expecting more from the team. Postikloo, however, is focused on the task at hand, insisting that he is not concerned with timelines or speculation about his future.

“My responsibility lies in, you know, making sure this football club progresses and gets to a position where he can challenge for things. And if I start putting timelines to that or worrying about what’s going to happen next week, then I’m sort of not performing the role that I’ve been given in terms of that and I just don’t think it’s helpful to anyone,” he said.

A Message from the Manager

Despite the tough conditions, Postikloo is refusing to buckle under the pressure, instead choosing to focus on the task at hand. When asked about his message to the fans, he simply replied, “I don’t have a message for the fans. I mean, they’re trying to help. But the only thing I can do is get the team to improve and change our fortunes. And if we do that, then I’m sure the fans will be happier.”

As Nottingham Forest prepares to face Newcastle on Super Sunday, the pressure will only intensify on Postikloo. Will he be able to turn the tide and lead the team to a much-needed victory, or will the wheels begin to fall off? Only time will tell.
