England Look to Maintain 100% Record in World Cup Qualifying

Striker Conundrum: Tukul Hints at Creative Options Ahead of World Cup

England take on Albania tomorrow, looking to maintain their 100% record in World Cup qualifying. Thomas Tukul and captain Harry Kane have been speaking ahead of the game. Our football correspondent Rob Dorset joins us live from Tottenham’s training ground with all the latest updates.

In his pre-match news conference, Tukul revealed that he has not ruled out the possibility of only taking one striker to the World Cup. “We will go with a very balanced squad,” he said. “I guess I have never picked a World Cup squad. I have never picked a squad for a tournament. So, this is something for for in between March and May.”

When asked if England’s only out-and-out striker, Harry Kane, would be guaranteed a starting spot, Tukul seemed more categorical. “I don’t think so,” he said. “It is possible but I don’t think that this will happen… We will go with a very balanced squad with all kinds of characters different characters and different qualities.”

Tukul also hinted at using creative options in the forward areas, including Phil Foden as a false nine, and Marcus Rashford and Anthony Gordon as alternatives.

Meanwhile, captain Harry Kane is in extraordinary form, having scored 26 goals already this season for club and country. When asked if he was the best player he had ever been, Kane replied, “Yeah, definitely. Um, yeah, I’d say probably, yeah… I think just on a whole um physically, mentally, obviously the goals, um, the way I’m involved in the game, probably more than what I have been in in other years.”

The article also reports on some surprising team news, including Ezri Konsa’s hamstring injury and Mark Guehi’s absence due to a foot injury. England’s defense is expected to be anchored by Jon Stones, with Dan Burn, Trevor Chalobah, and Gerald Kasa being considered as possible center back partners.

All eyes will be on England to deliver a big performance tomorrow night, as they look to maintain their 100% record and set themselves up for a successful World Cup campaign next summer.
